Pure Antioxidant Fruit Has Yet To be Discovered
Research continues to find the perfect antioxidant fruit that can be eaten with pleasure while providing all of the health benefits known to be found in antioxidants. Many ingredients in antioxidant formulas contain a multitude of different fruits and vegetables as the basic ingredients are found in a multitude of resources. Vitamin A for example, comes primarily from beta-carotene, which is plentiful in carrots. Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C comes from citrus fruit. It may be difficult to convince some folks that drinking a mixture of orange juice and carrot juice can actually be good for them.
When companies first found that the Mangostene is as close to an antioxidant fruit of anything yet discovered, they quickly turned it into one of the most powerful health foods known to man. The makers of antioxidant products use nearly every bit of this fruit in making their formulas, supplementing it with other ingredients to insure the daily recommended allowance of each ingredient is part of the formula. As an antioxidant fruit, Mangostene is close to becoming the leading contender for the title.
Antioxidants are a necessary part of human health as they help gather up and remove free radicals moving through the body with the potential to cause cell damage. The juice from this antioxidant fruit is claimed to have the power to slow down and even heel many maladies including high blood pressure and even cancer. Many of the claims have been called into question with companies having to prove the health benefits touted in their advertising.
Research Continues On Claims Of Health Benefits
As marketers have a field day with the research on many products, government regulators are cautioning the public to take any health advice cautiously, as the jury is still out on the long-term benefits of any antioxidant fruit introduced. Indications may be that the antioxidant juice from some fruits and vegetables are exceptionally beneficial, since they have not been around very long, their effects over the year remain questionable.
Simply having the juice or other parts of the plant used in an antioxidant formula does not automatically make them an ideal antioxidant fruit. How the plant is processed into the product plays as much of a role in their benefit as does the plant or fruit itself. Mangostene, for example is used in it entirety, skin and all by some manufacturers while others use only the pulp and juice from this antioxidant fruit in their formulations.
