Natural Antioxidant Formula Hinges On Nutritional Diet

Published by Author at 4:41 pm under Antioxidants

In the world of antioxidants, there is a host of ingredients in the antioxidant formula used in different products. Whichever product reviewed, many of the same ingredients will be found as they usually contain both primary antioxidants and other ingredients that are claimed to boost the productivity of the primary ingredients. For the most parts, primary ingredients in the antioxidant formula will include vitamins A, C and E and as many herbal users point out, many of these ingredients can be found in natural products without the need to use those made in a laboratory.

Vitamin A, for example can be found in beta-carotene and vitamin C in ascorbic acid, most notably found in the juice of citrus fruits. Tocopheryl succinate, a natural source of vitamin E and has been shown in research to offer benefits in the fight against cancer. Essentially, the ingredients if an antioxidant formula can be found in a balanced nutritional diet, ending the need for antioxidant supplements.

However, since most people do not always eat the foods they should eat in sufficient quantities to provide the necessary components of their own antioxidant formula, supplements are gaining market share in the antioxidant industry. Zinc, selenium and copper are some of the other common antioxidant formula ingredients along with quercitin, as shown by medical research as essential to eliminating free radicals in the body.

Research Reveals Many New Findings

Continuing research by the health supplement industry has found many new uses for some of the old fruits in developing a new antioxidant formula. While many fruits contain a multitude of the same ingredients found in many of the product’s antioxidant formula, how they are used depends on the company manufacturing them. Some use the entire product, claiming many benefits are found in the outer skin, while others leave off the skin, saying it detracts from the taste without offering additional benefits.

Mangostene is being touted as one of the most beneficial antioxidant fruit, and its use in many antioxidant formulas continues to lead the pack. Carrots, for its beta-carotene and oranges for ascorbic acid are other members of the fruit family that are often used in the development of an antioxidant formula.

It is important to closely examine the ingredients in any antioxidant formula, especially the percentage of the ingredients’ daily recommended dosage. Some of the ingredients exceed the recommendations and will wash through the system while others may accumulate in the system, offering unwanted side effects if more is ingested than the body can metabolize.
