Benefits of Eating Organic Chicken
Organic chicken is one of the food products that are in high demand because chicken mostly have white meat and less fat if you take away the skin. These chickens are actually raise din pretty much the same way as other kinds of ordinary chickens. The difference lies in what the farmer feeds hi chickens and what he injects in them to keep them healthy and disease free.
Chicken Feed and Medication
As with other kinds of organic health food meats, the key to organic chicken in what they are fed. An organic chicken can only be called this when it has passed the standards that have been set to qualify being labeled organic. The feeds that are given to an organic chicken are made from organic plants which have been grown and processed in such a way that harmful chemical are taken out of the equation. This is one of the more important aspects of raising organic chicken. The farmer needs to be sure that what is fed to the animals is certified organic.
Even the medication given to the organic chicken need to conform to the standards set by a governing body to make sure that the chickens are fit to be labeled organic. Some farmers who raise chickens for a bigger profit at the cost of the environment and human health used antibiotics and growth stimulants to increase their animals chances of survival and fats for heavier weight. Organic chicken farmers do not compromise to make their chickens heavier at the risk of sending out chickens that may eventually be the cause of sickness and diseases for humans.
The Environment
Another benefit that we get from eating or choosing organic chicken is the preservation of the environment. This is a rather long circle that shows that feeds fed to the chicken are grown organically in such a way that the soil they are grown on do not suffer from exposure to harmful pesticides and chemical based fertilizers that seep unto the soil and stay there for along time. Even the local animals and insects benefit from farmers feeding their organic chickens feeds grown in the organic way since these do not harm the animals and insects.
Eating organic chicken is a healthy and tastier alternative to ordinary chicken. After all, going organic will benefit us and our children and their children as well. This is one way of trying to make the world a safer and healthier place for the future generations.
